Look Inside and You Will Find Me: A Five Minute Body Scan
5:03 min
2015
Allow your muscles in your face to relax, drop your shoulders and inhale deeply
Open yourself up to the world
Shift your consciousness to the movement of your breath
Rising and falling, in and out, evenly and effortlessly
Please position yourself in a place and posture where you can comfortably feel and see from a place of security
Take note of your diaphragm
Become aware of your ribs, expanding with each breath and gently contracting as you exhale
Gently bring your consciousness back to the heat of your body
Become aware of sensations of warmth in your hands and your fingers as they move up and down your thighs
Allow feeling to precede cognition
Let your muscles relax and let go of thinking
Imagine yourself radiating certainty, success and optimism
Bring touching and feeing to the fore of your conscious body
Reach out and feel what is immediately around you
Register your body’s autonomic response
Continuing on autonomously from moment to moment
Imagine yourself radiating self-assurance and possibility as you purchase your new home, new placemats and fresh carpets
If you so choose, slow down your breath only at a rate that is comfortable to you
As you do, notice the pleasure of the warming sensation of relief as it travels down from your nose, down your diaphragm to the bottom of your body
